HTML Programming Internship

College Intern: Mai Xiong

Mai Xiong is a hard working, dedicated, smart, self-motivating individual!

I would like to take a moment to say a special thank you to Mai Xiong. I truly appreciate her hard work and dedication to working with me to improve my website!

When Mai and I first met, we sat down and discussed the long list of problems and goals for the site to make the site search engine friendly. She listened to my thoughts and made suggestions to help me improve the website.

Our first step was to start to convert our visitors to customers. First, she started by adding a box with a Visa and MasterCard logo and ordering information. She added text to the policy page and changed the address to a physical address.

Next, she moved on to removing pop-up windows by creating large image product pages. This was to remove all the broken links caused by the pop-up windows.

She filled the large image pages with text, large images of the items and an order button. I would e-mail over the information and she would get the job done.

She continued to improve the site by adding text, making sure we used H1 and H2 tags to make the site more search engine friendly.

Together with a team of other interns, Mai, assisted with creating a new website. We gave her a page format and she created a new template to make the website easy for us to update in the future. Mai created the website using search engine friendly text links. She also added more navigation bars that made it easier for the customer to shop. She also added a find button to make it easier for the customer to locate the item they are looking for.

Mai did an excellent job working with the other team members! Missy e-mailed the new page format over to Mai. Mai then set up the new template in HTML, making the new site easier to make changes to the navigation bars in the future. She also provided support to others as they assisted with the HTML programming of the new website pages.

Mai did an excellent job of keeping others informed on which pages to pull down and teaching me some more HTML. She always stayed on top of things.

Finally, I must conclude by thanking Mai again. I can't thank her enough for her hard work and dedication to this project. She was a joy to work with! I would hire her in a heartbeat! She did an excellent job with the new site!
