Dinosaur Preschool Activity: Pattern Math Game
You will need three colors of construction paper. Cut out 8 dinosaurs out of each color of construction paper making them all the same shape. I used blue, green and brown paper since dinosaurs are these colors. Let's not make this too complicated!
Now use your dinosaurs to make patterns for your children. First start with two colors. For example put down a: Blue Dinosaur, Green Dinosaur, Blue Dinosaur, and Green Dinosaur. Ask the children what color dinosaur goes next. Continue building your pattern.
Next try making a pattern with three colors. For example place down in a row: Blue Dinosaur, Green Dinosaur, and Brown Dinosaur. Again place down in a row Blue Dinosaur, Green Dinosaur, Brown Dinosaur. Finally, ask the children what color comes next in your pattern.
Dinosaur Preschool Activity: Chart the dinosaur's favorite foods
Make a chart of who the dinosaur's and children's favorite foods. Next to one row, place a picture of vegetables and fruit. Next to the second row, place a picture of meat.
Now in the squares next to the vegetables write the name of the dinosaurs that like vegetables. Next to the piece of meat, write the names of the dinosaurs that would eat meat.
Now, count your result. How many dinosaurs liked meat? How many dinosaurs like to eat vegetables? Do you more dinosaurs like meat or vegetables?
Finally, ask the children if they prefer meat or vegetables. Now, count your result. Did your children prefer meat or vegetables? Were you surprised by the results?
